Accepted paper for AIM 2026

We are delighted to announce the acceptance of our paper, “Fast and Interactive Inverse Simulation Supporting Human-Robot Deformable Object Manipulation”, at AIM 2026 in Genova.

The paper demonstrates the ability to run inverse finite element simulations within a robotic control loop at an update rate of approximately 20 Hz. This achievement was demonstrated in the dual-arm shaping of a foam part, where the controlled robot has no information about the leading robot’s future actions. We believe these results show promise for human-robot collaboration, hence the article’s title.

This work was carried out in collaboration between our partners at ICube and LCFC.
